Benefits of Pilates

I had been slacking going to the gym as my husband and I were in the midst of a move but I decided to join the gym by our new house and have been taking a few classes for the past couple of weeks. I have always chosen weight classes or Zumba but decided to try something new. I started taking Pilates classes 3 times a week
and have fallen in love with it. Pilates is a series of 500 exercises all inspired by calisthenics, yoga and ballet. It helps to lengthen and stretch all your major muscle groups and improves your flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness. I have been taking classes for just a couple of weeks but I already feel longer, leaner, and have greater core strength. I dove in and researched the many great benefits of Pilates. I urge you to find a class/location near you. Pilates is suitable for everyone (man or woman) in any shape or size and has classes ranging from beginner to advance.

                Benefits of Pilates

  • Improves flexibility
  • Improves posture (Look longer and leaner. Alleviate back pain and stress with correct posture)
  • Stress management and relaxation
  • Improves coordination and balance
  • Increases muscle strength and tone (particularly in abdomen, lower back, hips and buttocks)
  • Eases back pain (Where most hold stress)
  • Easy on your joints
  • Improves sex life and drive
  • Improves sports performance
  • Boosts brain power
  • Creates longer, leaner muscles
