My Dream Wedding! Part 1

This past Dec 22, 2013 I (Jessie Sulidis) tied the knot to my pro hockey playing fiancé Jordan Henry in a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Burlington Golf and Country Club.  http://www.burlingtongolfclub.com/Weddings-Events
The weekend turned out to be a winter wonderland as a crazy ice storm swept the GTA leaving many without power and decorated our trees with beautiful icicles. I am doing a 3 part blog to showcase some of the great vendors I used for my beautiful day. First I have to hand it to the Burlington Golf and Country Club who hosted our special day. It’s an unbelievable venue with breath taking views, friendly staff and delicious food.  We did both our ceremony and our reception at the venue making it a one-stop for our guests.  This is a great idea so guests aren't waiting hours between the ceremony and reception. We did our wedding pictures in the morning before starting a 4:30pm ceremony right into reception. We were still able to capture that first moment when Jordan and I saw each other for the first time that day. Our photographer set up a picture perfect moment and caught it on camera.  We had a short but sweet ceremony by reverend Mandi which our guests said it “made them want to renew their vows.” Mandi really got to know Jordan and I as a couple and created the most perfect ceremony for us. I highly recommend her to officiate your wedding. http://marriedbymandi.ca/about/

Secondly I want to share the amazing company I used for my dessert table and wedding cake. After trying several samples from companies in the GTA we went with Cakes Sweets and Treats in Burlington, ON.  http://www.cakessweetstreats.com/ They put together an amazing assortment of mini pastries and mini cakes for our guests all to our choosing and created the most beautiful wedding cake. We chose 4 different treats (pastries and cakes) to accommodate our 125 guests.  I literally walked in with a picture of a wedding cake I had found on Pinterest and she created it for me! It was stunning and on top of it’s great looks, it tasted amazing. There were so many flavours to choose from but we ended up with Red Velvet—one of my personal favs. It was a hit!

Hiring a wedding photographer is one of the most essential elements to your wedding! They are what you're going to look back at on anniversaries over the years, what you're going to share with your kids about your special day, etc. They capture all the fun and memories you shared. That's why we went with our good friend from British Columbia, Jesse Hlady Photography. He is absolutely brilliant and super talented. He flew in to Toronto this past summer to shoot our engagement photos and we loved them so much we had him flown back for our wedding. I was so busy planning this wedding within a month that I literally gave all reins over to Jesse to plan the photos. He took control and the photos turned out unbelievable. He goes above and beyond any photographer I've ever worked with --and I've worked with a lot throughout my career. I highly recommend Jesse to capture your big day. http://jessehlady.com/

Check back later this week for blog posts on my dress, the flowers/center pieces, wedding favor ideas, the DJ, and where I made all my invitations and thank you cards online.
