Cocoa Butter; Your Winter Rescue Remedy

With the frigid Winter weather that's hit that nation recently it's even harder to keep your skin hydrated and chap free this season. I've been trying several different skincare remedies but have found only one product that truly works that I picked up at my local Walmart for $7. It's the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Cream. Cocoa Butter has been used for years as an anti-aging, skin tightening and skin healer as it is high in antioxidants which helps fight off free radicals. Cocoa Butter is high in fatty acids so it hydrates the skin deeply from the inside out. This is why it works through this polar vortex.

Cocoa Butter is widely used by pregnant women as well as it's been proven to help prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scaring. It's suitable for all areas of the face and body. I apply the Cocoa Butter in the morning after my normal skincare routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing and then top coat it with a small amount of Palmer's. My face stays hydrated all day and it doesn't clog pores. I have noticed tighter skin and smaller pores and a more even skin tone from using this miracle in a jar. It's amazing for after shaving as it keeps your legs hydrated all day. I apply to my entire body again before bed including my hands and feet and seal the butter in with socks for a deeper treatment. Cocoa Butter has also known to help skin irritations such as eczema and dermatitis.

You can purchase the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Cream in different forms; in a tube for your lips, in a tube for your face and body and also in a 7.25oz Jar which is the best formula as it's the most concentrated of the three. Palmer's is available at Target, Walmart, Loblaws in Canada. Get hydrated!

The Perfect Brow

I had the privilege of spending my Saturday afternoon on Yorkville Avenue this weekend as I was pampered for a total brow makeover at Toronto's hotspot, MYNC. It's the perfect lash lounge and brow bar in the big city. This chic second floor location is the perfect lounge to update your look. Your eyebrows are one of the most important features on your face. They are your framework. The way they are shaped and groomed can help accent and bring out your eyes and shape your face. Even if you have great brows a quick tidy up and grooming can even help soften facial features. A small change can make a huge difference. I worked with brow stylist Ivy who took me on a tour of my face to create the perfect brow shape to suit my face and bring out my special features. There knowledgeable staff will show you how to fill in your brow and will give you the perfect shape to suit your face shape.

MYNC has already gotten raves and attention by some of the hottest Entertainment shows in the city such as appearing on The Marilyn Denis Show , Cosmopolitan TV and are featured in popular magazines like Lou Lou, Hello Canada and Fashion.

So take 25 minutes and dedicate to you at one of MYNC's fabulous locations below. You won't regret it.  They'll be tickled pink you did :)

My Dream Wedding! Part 1

This past Dec 22, 2013 I (Jessie Sulidis) tied the knot to my pro hockey playing fiancé Jordan Henry in a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Burlington Golf and Country Club.  http://www.burlingtongolfclub.com/Weddings-Events
The weekend turned out to be a winter wonderland as a crazy ice storm swept the GTA leaving many without power and decorated our trees with beautiful icicles. I am doing a 3 part blog to showcase some of the great vendors I used for my beautiful day. First I have to hand it to the Burlington Golf and Country Club who hosted our special day. It’s an unbelievable venue with breath taking views, friendly staff and delicious food.  We did both our ceremony and our reception at the venue making it a one-stop for our guests.  This is a great idea so guests aren't waiting hours between the ceremony and reception. We did our wedding pictures in the morning before starting a 4:30pm ceremony right into reception. We were still able to capture that first moment when Jordan and I saw each other for the first time that day. Our photographer set up a picture perfect moment and caught it on camera.  We had a short but sweet ceremony by reverend Mandi which our guests said it “made them want to renew their vows.” Mandi really got to know Jordan and I as a couple and created the most perfect ceremony for us. I highly recommend her to officiate your wedding. http://marriedbymandi.ca/about/

Secondly I want to share the amazing company I used for my dessert table and wedding cake. After trying several samples from companies in the GTA we went with Cakes Sweets and Treats in Burlington, ON.  http://www.cakessweetstreats.com/ They put together an amazing assortment of mini pastries and mini cakes for our guests all to our choosing and created the most beautiful wedding cake. We chose 4 different treats (pastries and cakes) to accommodate our 125 guests.  I literally walked in with a picture of a wedding cake I had found on Pinterest and she created it for me! It was stunning and on top of it’s great looks, it tasted amazing. There were so many flavours to choose from but we ended up with Red Velvet—one of my personal favs. It was a hit!

Hiring a wedding photographer is one of the most essential elements to your wedding! They are what you're going to look back at on anniversaries over the years, what you're going to share with your kids about your special day, etc. They capture all the fun and memories you shared. That's why we went with our good friend from British Columbia, Jesse Hlady Photography. He is absolutely brilliant and super talented. He flew in to Toronto this past summer to shoot our engagement photos and we loved them so much we had him flown back for our wedding. I was so busy planning this wedding within a month that I literally gave all reins over to Jesse to plan the photos. He took control and the photos turned out unbelievable. He goes above and beyond any photographer I've ever worked with --and I've worked with a lot throughout my career. I highly recommend Jesse to capture your big day. http://jessehlady.com/

Check back later this week for blog posts on my dress, the flowers/center pieces, wedding favor ideas, the DJ, and where I made all my invitations and thank you cards online.
