Mikhael Kale Collection

The C&C girls attended designer Mikhael Kale’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection sneak peek earlier this week. We finally arrived at the Corkin Gallery in Toronto’s Distillery district after conquering the cobblestone streets in our heels. We were greeted with champagne and were welcomed into the beautiful art gallery where the collection was displayed. This latest collection features pale blues, pastels and tie-dye patterns to pull together a really elegant look, inspired by the ocean. The pieces are feminine and flowing with a bit of a masculine touch. The best part was that each model rocked a pair of Nike kicks.

A little about the designer:

“Mikhael Kale is known for his conceptual approach to fashion with attention to detail, craftsmanship and tailoring. After leaving Central Saint Martin's, the Canadian born Kale honed his skills through working with labels such as Antoniao Marras, and later securing a design position under the tutelage of Sergio Ciucci for Exte. Since returning to

Toronto, Kale introduced his eponymous label in 2007 and has been recognized by international publications such as WWD, The New York Times T magazine, and Dazed and Confused." - Mikhael Kale BIO

Mikhael Kale has dressed famous celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Sienna Miller and Beyonce to name a few. He has also been featured in Flare, Fashion, Elle Canada, Glow, The New York Times Style Magazine, Wallpaper, Dazed and Confused, V Magazine, WWD, Surface and Nylon.

All Eyes on Me

The Chandeliers and Champagne girls headed to Milton, ON last week to check out some of the hottest eyewear for Fall 2012. All Eyes on Me welcomed the girls and took them on an optical tour picking out some of the most chic glasses for both Jessie and Leah.  The store creates a unique shopping experience with its warm stylish atmosphere and lounge like appeal. They house custom displays of exclusive and limited edition designer frames with a wide variety of collections and all types of styles! It’s definitely a must see.  The girls met with owner and operator Sim where he created the girls looks.

Look 1: Italia Dependent: Iconic shaped Italian eyewear with a velvet effect. Italia Independent is the first company in the eyewear industry to introduce the velvet effect in its optical. The surface glass is soft to touch and scratch proof! The velvet is made from true Ferrari material! It’s a must have for Fall.

Look 2:  Prada: Work a hint of the 18th century sophistication with these round framed cutting-edge Prada glasses.  The Rococo-curl arms and vintage-inspired round frame takes centre stage with its accented mysterious gradient lenses. This is part of the deluxe collection for a limited time. You must get your hands on these.

Look 3: i-Thermic sunglasses: Italia Independent is the first brand to launch the thermo sensitive sunglasses. Since its foundation, I-I reinterprets iconic shapes of Made in Italy glasses with a modern touch, by using highly innovative and unique materials and treatments. I-Thermic sunglasses are characterised by a particular treatment that deposits, by a manual process, an enzyme with coloured pigment, so that when the sunglasses are exposed to a 30°C temperature they react by becoming transparent and showing the colour or pattern underneath.

Tonight I took one of the most sexual and empowering toning striptease classes at Flirty Girl Fitness called Rated R. Rated R was created for all you Christian Grey Fifty Shades of Grey fans out there wanting to spice up the bedroom. This class appeals to all women who are looking to tone, stretch and strip for the bedroom. Hot Pilates

Hot Pilates is a newly trending exercise that really helps you supercharge your work out and release bad toxins in your body.

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that incorporates exercises that work the legs, butt, arms and especially the core to elongate muscles and increase flexibility. Pilates also incorporates different breathing techniques that can reduce stress.

What are the benefits of a hot room? The heat increases our heart’s ability to work harder in order to cool the body down. An increased heart rate increases workout results because it helps burn more calories and boost metabolism. Being in a hot room will also help with acne and other skin irritations; it’s like a facial for your body. Just be sure to shower right after (& exfoliate!), otherwise the bad toxins that came out of the skin will go right back in!

The sensation of faint or dizziness during a workout is the body telling itself it is dehydrated. Therefore it is important to drink water before, during, and after a workout.

One of our favourite spots to do #HotPilates is in Mississauga at Holistic BodyWorx!

Jessie's TIFF 2012 Red Carpet Coverage

Chandeliers and Champagnes' Jessie Sulidis caught up with some of the hottest celebrities in the world as they invaded Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival 2012. Jessie joined the Heavy.com team as she interviewed stars from the films Looper, End of Watch, Argo, Hyde Park on Hudson, and many more.

"It was such an amazing experience to join Heavy again this year for the TIFF coverage. It's 10 days of red carpet madness as Hollywood invades Toronto. I got to attend some of the hottest parties and galas of the year and mingle with the celebrities. I was amazed at how some of the biggest names in Hollywood are more gracious and friendly and take the time to talk than some of the newbies. Some of my favourites to interview were Ben Affeleck, Penelope Cruz, Bill Murray and Dustin Hoffman. Penelope was drop dead georgous in person! She just gave birth to her son and is still as stunning and in great shape as ever. She was so elegant and graceful and made sure she made time to stop and talk with all media outlets. It can get crazy on the carpet trying to ensure you get all the A list celebrities to stop and chat with your outlet. It's a game of tug of war. Bill Murray and Dustin Hoffman were absolutely hilarious. They are everything you imagined them to be from the funny characters they play in films. Dustin is exactly his Meet the Fockers character in real life. He was funny, odd, and cheerful! Bill Murray made sure to stop and talk with every media outlet even as TIFF PR tried to hurry him down the red carpet. Ben Affeleck was a complete doll. I had never really been a huge fan but after meeting him he is not only incredibly handsome and sweet but intelligent and charming too! Some of the other celebs I was excited to catch up with were Amy Adams, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and Billy Bob Thornton! Can't wait to do it all again next year!"
